Theremin... therewhat?

Imagine an instrument that you could play without touching and would emit a sound that was straight out of a science fiction movie....pretty futuristic huh?  Yeah, well that's what they thought in 1919 when lev Sergeivich Termen (also known as Leon Theremin) invented the Theremin in Russia. The rising vertical metal rod controls pitch (right hand) and a curved rod controls volume (left hand). It's pretty much responsible for the sound you think of when you imagine a flying saucer.  Oh yeah baby, this thing eats wii music for breakfast.
